All Alaska Governor January 2010 Update

YOUNG ALASKANS FOR BILL WALKER.
After a great month of meetings and events on the Kenai Peninsula, Fairbanks, Willow, Valdez and Anchorage (including an in depth radio interview on KFQD), 2009 finished with an exclamation mark when nearly 100 young Alaskans gathered at an event organized by volunteer extraordinaire, Mary Graham, and her family. My wife, Donna, surprised me with a funny, moving introduction and then I shared my vision for a prosperous Alaska with this enthusiastic crowd. When I talk about assuring that Alaskans fill the large percentage of current North Slope jobs held by out-of-state workers as well as those that will be created by the All-Alaska Gasline, I am preaching to the choir with these young adults who are hoping upon hope to be able to build a future in Alaska.

My plans for Alaska’s economy would provide countless opportunities for all of our youth whether they have college degrees or work in other careers and trades. With the All-Alaska Gasline under construction and in operation and affordable energy being delivered to our homes and businesses, Alaska will reclaim her place as a top destination for living and working and will provide the incentive our children need to stay in Alaska.

Donna and I are blessed to personally know a number of the young adults at the event. View some of the photos on Facebook. Some I coached, taught Sunday School, took on road trips, cheered on from the bleachers. Many went on youth mission trips with Donna as a team leader. Several are long time friends of our four children who have been regulars at our home and cabin through the years and have helped me knock out a wall, build a deck, clear brush, hang a beam or move a shed. They call me “BWalks” so be on the lookout for the “Vote BWalks” T-shirts they designed and are proudly wearing.

URGENT DEADLINE OF JANUARY 15TH TO SIGN PARENTAL RIGHTS PETITION.
One of the things I care strongly about is strengthening Alaska’s families. Donna and I were early signers and supporters of the Parental Rights Petition. MEET BILL THIS MONTH.
I will be traveling all around the state in January and hope you will come out and meet me. I believe you will leave knowing that I am THE candidate with a definite plan, not just another politician with promises, task forces and studies, but a DEFINITE plan to restore Alaska to its rightful place as the Land of Opportunity. Events are being added to the calendar daily so please check my website and Facebook page regularly. As I write this I know Donna and I will be at events in Wasilla on January 14th, Palmer on the 21st and Valdez on the 30th so come with your questions and ideas — we would love to meet you.

JOIN THE 49ers CLUB.
I well remember that great day of celebration when Alaska officially became the 49th State! Those major historical Alaskan events: Statehood; the ’64 Earthquake; and, the building of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline where Alaskans truly shone as Alaskans shaped me into the “Eight Stars of Gold on a Field of Blue” patriot I am. Join me in writing the next great chapter of Alaskan history by contributing $4.90, $49, $149, $249, $349, $490 or any amount by clicking on the link above. 49ers Club Members will receive a distinctive campaign button. Donations made in January are especially appreciated.

Bill and Governor Hickel“To get the All Alaska gasline built, Alaska need one thing. We need a governor who understands what to do and has the courage to do it. That’s Bill Walker and he has my full support.” Governor Walter J. Hickel

MY NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION is to continue working hard every day to keep Alaskans working, provide affordable energy throughout Alaska and to accomplish the building of the All-Alaska Gasline. Our gas. Our jobs. Our future. And the time is NOW. Let’s just do it, Alaska. We can, and with your help, WE WILL.

All-Alaska, All the time,
Bill
